G. C. Berkouwer's studies in dogmatics

The full set of G. C. Berkouwer’s 14-volume Studies in Dogmatics will soon be available electronically from Logos. I have the set in print, and it is a marvellous resource for theological and historical study (and especially for study of the Reformed tradition). My favourite three volumes in the set are Holy Scripture, Sin and Divine Election.

Among Berkouwer’s other works are The Second Vatican Council and the New Catholicism (1965) and the heart-warming intellectual autobiography, A Half Century of Theology (1977). But of course his greatest achievement was the magisterial study, The Triumph of Grace in the Theology of Karl Barth (1956)—a work of astonishing power and insight, which moved Barth himself almost to tears.
