On being a minister

Some words of wisdom from The Simpsons episode “In Marge We Trust” (1997):

Flanders: You saved me, Reverend. You really went above and beyond. Thank you.

Reverend Lovejoy: Oh, don’t thank me, thank Marge Simpson. She taught me that there’s more to being a minister than not caring about people.

Yes, the minister shall surely deliver the sermon this morning which will certainly save us!(If it doth contain the scripture and proper exegesis and the ortho- hermeneutic and the parishioners' rapt attention and the minister's compassionate zeal for the lost...as well as a mildly funny joke) Not to mention her facility with Latin and the Greek.

(Whoops! Did I say her? A slip of the tongue, AT and anon.)
