The body's grace

Mike Higton has just started a new series, engaging with the theology of Rowan Williams’ great essay on “The Body’s Grace.” You can check out the first two posts here and here. Oh, and if you’ve never read Mike’s excellent book on Williams, you should really do yourself a favour.

hey these articles are fantastic, thanks for pointing them out! Mr. Higton does a great job of contextualizing his discussion and pointing out contours that I would miss without guidance. I can't wait to see the rest of his comments.

This is great, Mike, thanks.

Here are two further essays that will help readers engage with Williams' sexual ethics:

"Is There a Christian Sexual Ethics?", in Rowan Williams, Open to Judgement: Sermons and Addresses (London: Darton, Longman and Todd, 1994), pp. 161-67.

"Forbidden Fruit: New Testament Sexual Ethics", in Martyn Percy (ed.), Intimate Affairs: Sexuality and Spirituality in Perspective (London: Darton, Longman and Todd, 1997), pp. 21-31.

For what it's worth, I'm in the process of writing up several posts on Rowan Williams' essay. I'm afraid that my take is less congenial than Mike Higton's.
