Before Cosmos became a nature of inert objects, a "standing reserve" for a greedy, utilitarian calculus, it was understood by the wise that the universe was a theophany.

Surely, that dog's master knew only a small fraction of the mystery of the dog. Love gave him insight, gave him reverence before God's creation. All judgement is true only so far as it participates in the divine knowledge. So whatever God thinks of that dog, it is not a human reflection, but a living thing ever deepening with the mirth and artistry of the Spirit.briannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14261952.post-34837109459383301372016-09-11T10:29:51.513-04:002016-09-11T10:29:51.513-04:00I saved this until I could really sit down and ...I saved this until I could really sit down and 'read' it. Thanks, Ben. At one of the nearby churches that I visit regularly, to lead worship, there is a blind woman with her faithful dog. She has just changed dogs after the previous one retired. Both of them come forward and each time she shares her bread with her companion dog. That, too, has a wonderful symbolism.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04942914532546594200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14261952.post-19745405047213572672016-09-10T16:24:33.415-04:002016-09-10T16:24:33.415-04:00Thanks Nes, glad you enjoyed it!Thanks Nes, glad you enjoyed it!Ben Myershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03800127501735910966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14261952.post-39305742409818031382016-09-10T16:05:59.825-04:002016-09-10T16:05:59.825-04:00What a beautiful writer you are, Ben.
