Over at the
IVP blog, there’s a very moving description of the life and death of the New Testament scholar, Ernst Lohmeyer. It’s a sad and beautiful account of an extraordinary life (excerpted from the forthcoming
Dictionary of Major Biblical Interpreters). Thanks to
Mike for drawing attention to this.
my god. what an utterly horrifying story. reading accounts of martyrdoms such as lohmeyers, i get quite cross when i hear militant atheists loudly and self-pitying proclaim how persecuted they are by christian culture.
ReplyDeletethat's a truely messianic life
ReplyDeleteNow that's a theologian.
ReplyDeleteWow. I knew nothing of Lohmeyer's life. What a testimony of discipleship.

ReplyDeletetruely, a theologian is a such one only as a bearer of Θεου λογου and as an image of Θεου Λογου (what i called a messianic life)
