Thanks to Jason Hood for pointing me to
Kevin Cawley’s post about a collection of
online lectures by Karl Barth. I have linked to these lectures in the “audio” section of the sidebar. They’re recorded from Barth’s American lectures in 1962, which were subsequently published as a remarkable little book entitled
Evangelical Theology. If you’ve never yet heard the great theologian speaking, then you should take some time to listen to these brilliant lectures.
Ben, not sure if you are aware, but there are more.
ReplyDeleteGreat -- thanks for this, Edmund.
ReplyDeleteAh. The dilema.
ReplyDeleteI had that "remarkable little book" as a Christmas present. So, do I read the book first or listen to the lectures?
Hmmm. That is a tough one, Phillip. Oh well, at least it's a great problem to have....
ReplyDeleteand here...

Um...if you click on the link now you don't get the Karl Barth lectures....
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jamie. Sorry about this. The link seems to be working again now. I have had problems with this link in the past, so we'll just have to see how long it works for....
ReplyDeleteI just tried again and when I clicked on the link it redirected me to: http://www.you-got-mail.com/armageddon1.htm I'm not recommending that you go there, I just wanted to let you know what it's doing. Is this the problem you've had before or is it just me?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. The link is obviously redirecting traffic somehow to another site. I've withdrawn the link from my sidebar.
ReplyDeleteMy husband emailed the guy who owns the domain name to let him know what's happening.

ReplyDeleteThis is an old post about 5 years old but still high in Google so I thought I would put the updated link to Barth's lectures online: http://karlbarth.unibas.ch/index.php?id=33
ReplyDeleteAndy--have you ever explored the role of the Cainite covenant in Barth's Dogmatics? My research colleague and I have been drawing some interesting connections between Barth's remarks on Cain, and his remarks on lupine humanity, the "inner wolf."
