The doctrinal position of physics and physical cosmology (big bang theory, string theory, etc.) is that given time and patience, Man can dissect and understand at a basic level all truths of the universe in terms of empirical evidence and mathematic extrapolation.

Faith, however, takes a decidedly different approach, and as such represents a very real challenge not only to the information of science, but to the world-view of scientists. I believe this is the source of the apparent hostility and animosity that we see arise in the realm of science against the world of religion and people of faith.

It is important for Christians to look at these questions with more than simply a passing interest. If we are to create an effective response to such critiques as those which are being taught in schools and universities, then we must ourselves be willing and able to confront the issue of creation and existence with more than the simple statement, "God did it."

I look forward to reading this book as soon as I can get a copy.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16042409854461119260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14261952.post-61937055504799619892015-02-15T23:29:58.411-05:002015-02-15T23:29:58.411-05:00Thanks for your post.

I appreciate the approach where we can affirm God's care for the world and God's transcendence.

Often we try to put scripture into a logical box which has no reality except to our feeble minds.Danny Dhttp://www.theologyponderings.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
