Human-fishers

Over at Patrick’s new blog Theologia Viatorum, there’s an insightful post about Jesus’ calling of Peter and Andrew. Patrick quotes Karl Barth’s interpretation of this calling: “when Jesus himself makes his debut as prophet, his call to discipleship implies commissioning to [the disciples’] own future speech and action.”

Ben,

thanks for the plug...I was just fooling around with blogger and posted two short reflections. I don't really have the time to devote to anything large scale like this blog. I really do enjoy reading what you and your contributors have to say. The discussion over the resurrection is quite good. I will be spending some time with Bishop Wright the first week of May as he is visiting Wycliffe College and the theological bookstore that I work at, CRUX Books, is hosting him for a book signing and a wine & cheese.

Thanks again,

Patrick
